Buy a dual hose portable AC, that’s what I did when I lived in an apartment that would get VERY hot no matter what. (Actually, to save some $$ I got a single hose and modified it to a dual hose, but depending on the specific model and the tolerances they built it to, it risks short cycling and possibly burn out)

They’re still not nearly efficient as a window AC, but far far better than those single hose ones

If you can fit a window AC do that instead, if you are able to make modifications, a small mini split/heat pump system would do wonderfully. Though I have heard that they make mini splits that go through small windows rather then needing to drill through the wall, so that might be an option too.

The other tips and tricks are nice, if you have exhausted all other AC options and simply can’t have an AC at all (Which is mostly due to cost, dual hose portable ACs are pricey) but they really don’t compare to an actual AC system.

A simple scan is fine, but to actually image a dying drive for recovery purposes, you should absolutely be doing a direct connection

An entire industry that’s playing the victim. Stop falling for it and stop romanticizing taxis, the shit they pulled was just as bad, if not worse than what Uber does.

Biggest difference is their drivers were complicit in the shenanigans and primarily targeted their customers. Taking LONG routes because their customer “wasn’t local”, saying a route will “probably be 10$” and then it’s 50 and “the meter says what it says man”.

They literally used strict regulations as a shield to hold local monopolies for decades which resulted in terrible downright scammy service, cash only for an unacceptable amount of time, 0 innovations, dirty ancient barely running cars, a dispatch who would constantly say a car “was just around the corner” for 2 hours

The taxi industry doesn’t give a fuck about you, they’re just mad because they didn’t think to do what Uber is doing and now they’re dying. Every single taxi “app” I’ve ever used have been shit. Just last year I tried one out, and the best it did (besides looking like it walked straight outta 2013 UI’s in 2023) was give me an “estimated price range” which again left too much room for the cabbie to fuck with the meter/routes.

Even now they can’t get their head out of their ass to make a proper app in 2024 that just tells you how much you’re going to pay. Last time I tried out one of those taxi “apps” last year:

It wouldn’t tell you where or how long till the taxi got to you

It would only give you an “estimated price range” (FUCK THAT)

It looked like it was from 2013 and they got a “nephew who knows computers” to make it

Fuck Uber, but at least when Uber tells me a price, that’s the price that gets charged (excluding tip). At least I know where the Uber car is and when it’s getting to me. At least the Uber driver can’t screw around with routes and fares.

So really the choices for a taxi-like service are between a shit sandwich and a giant douche. Ugh, I’m just going to start renting cars.

The organizers could have done it themselves and kept things equal instead of trying to greenwash the Olympics, they probably just chose to not do AC to reduce costs.

Nothing really, unless the system leaks refrigerant and isn’t taken care of promptly.

We don’t need religion, we did at one time. When we didn’t know why or how people got sick, why sometimes crops would be plentiful and other times famine or why the ground shook sometimes or even just figuring out morals

But we know those things now and when we encounter something we don’t we have the knowledge and tools to figure out what’s up.

We don’t need churches for a common social place, we have parks, libraries, community centers and community wide events to invest in. We can socialize and learn other cultures around the world in an instant. We don’t just have random villages and tiny cities any more, we have large and diverse cities so we everyone can have a little of everything they’re interested in.

At this point, all religion does is serve as yet another thing to divide us.

70% is way more than enough there that it’s no excuse to support animal abuse

Like I said, if I could afford it I would have switched already long ago, I personally am fine with the taste and texture. But for many others, that 30% is gonna be a deal breaker.

2 things, 1) I can’t afford it as a regular item 2) Id say they’re maybe 70% there, there’s still a taste and texture issue. I personally don’t mind it and would happily switch over if it weren’t for #1

Vegans/Vegetarians will never get the vast majority of people out there to give up meat, best shot is that lab meat if they can get the cost equivalent to real meat.
