  • no, he’s absolutely right. Media shouldn’t get their Information from a Telegram Channel (or any social Media for that Matter)

that being said, his Quote is made up. There is yet no clear conformation, only a russian Military Blogger and the vague nodding of the intelligence office of Ukraine, so still take it with a grain of salt.

the Intelligence Office could not give a clear answer because, well, they’re in a fucking fight for their survival, or they could also just do what intelligence offices do (lie and deceive to their own advantage).

apparently we will get a clearer answer from the intelligence Office in a few days, so probably treat it as Fake-News until we get an actual reputationally-binding confirmation from an official source

i am going to give a Historically correct answer:

during the cold war, there was a peaceful uprising in the soviets puppet states (mainly hungary i believe).
the soviets decided the way to deal with these people was to send in tanks and slaughter the peacefully protesting civilians

everyone that was excusing the soviets use of Tanks against Civilians was dubbed a “tankie”

  • As a result of legislation on “fake news” passed by the Russian parliament in March 2022 after the invasion of Ukraine, The Moscow Times has relocated its journalists abroad and opened a temporary newsroom in Yerevan, Armenia. In addition, we have taken a series of steps to protect our staff. Until safe to do otherwise, some articles may appear without bylines or, at the discretion of editors, under a pseudonym.

they may be “controlled opposition”, but i’m going to give them the Benefit of the Doubt
