Good luck dealing with DRM though. ~Strawberry
IIRC its results just aren’t that good? I haven’t tried it, this is just what I’ve heard. Maybe it’s gotten better? ~Cherri
If you’re talking about YaCY, apparently that’s pretty much useless right now from what I’ve heard. ~Cherri
Often citations for fake books or rare print material the AI couldn’t possibly have had access to. ~Cherri
I think it was YaCY, but apparently it’s basically useless for everyday use. ~Cherri
A lot of the time those don’t even work anymore. ~Cherri
Gotta love the dipshits in the replies pushing the whole “the left calls anyone who disagrees with them a fascist!!1!” while conveniently leaving out any and all context as to what they’re disagreeing about. ~Cherri
Evil politicians aren’t evil because they have some spooky magic evil disorder. Please stop perpetuating this. ~Cherri
I wouldn’t consider myself a Firefox enthusiast, but there is one other major thing I’m concerned about with Chromium, and that’s the Chrome Web Store’s massive malware problem. Practically every month there’s some story about a bunch of malware being found on the store. Even accounting for the smaller userbase Firefox-based browsers have, it’s incredibly rare to see such stories about AMO. When they do come out, Mozilla tends to lay down the banhammer faster than Google does. CWS also had a pretty big problem with survey scams in the past, though I’m not sure about now. And if you look through AMO, one major difference you will notice is a distinct lack of all those sketchy search hijacking new tab extensions that seem to pop up on CWS constantly. Simply put, it appears Google’s review process for extensions on CWS is practically non-existent, while Mozilla’s is much more stringent. ~Cherri
I already use Firefox. I’m just confused as to what’s wrong with Ungoogled Chromium. ~Cherri
How so? What’s wrong with Ungoogled Chromium (besides it being Chromium)?
Decisions are not always good. ~Cherri
And if the only ones who don’t accept bribes lobbying from oil, gas, and coal companies are independents and third parties who have no chance of winning anything because your country’s voting system is first past the post? Then what? ~Strawberry
Is that even remotely achievable? ~Strawberry
We? It doesn’t seem like too many people had much of a choice. ~Strawberry
Well that’s not helpful at all. ~Strawberry
I’m 20, but if this is the case, and I’ve heard a lot of people saying Gen Z is not that good with technology though I haven’t seen anything verifying that, then that’s a bit terrifying, honestly. ~Strawberry
I am also 20 if that counts for anything. ~Strawberry
How did new people find those places, anyway?
