You realize these are real people, war is so sad and you are comparing it to Christmas :(

Yea I guess I “splurge” on food that doesn’t have traces of lead or other disgusting things that shouldn’t be in food.
There is no reason to have these unless you’re doing a flashback and want to intuitively imply how much older this scene is versus the other ones.
There actually is a reason for both of those to be used in video game development
You really should do some research on practical applications of both of these features
But instead, video games just turn them on or off, CEOs being too cheap to pay artists to go over the scenes one by one and utilize these effects to their full artistic potential.
And apparently do some research into how these are implemented.
Noise/Grain is used to add texture after using some sharp aliasing, it can subtly help blend things. Similarly aberration can help soften edges that get really sharp when rendering.
Irregardless of what they can practically be used for, they are implemented as simple features that users have the ability to control. Both features are just screen space shaders that take very little dev time and processing power. They are added as an extra little feature that’s simple not because the CEO is too cheap. It sounds like you are unhappy with a game you’ve played and seemingly blamed it on them adding a noise filter, so now any use of it is lazy.
If you want to immigrate into a country, you must 100% be aligned with the values of your new country.
It’s just hard to say that when a lot of European Colonialism took place in these countries, some gaining independence within the last 100 years (referring to the middle east as alluded to in your last paragraph)
I don’t really know where to stand and I don’t think you can be in a position that is correct given the effects of colonialism from Europe. The fact that some effects of this colonialism (especially in Africa) have destroyed some countries/cultures, when the natural population didn’t “100%” align with the colonizers makes it hard to not sympathise with these people. A lot of these immigrants are leaving their home countries (not all), due to the rippling effects of colonialism.
I should say while I agree with your statement, I don’t know how to account for the effects of external influence that may be causing said immigration.
Personally, there are some smaller communities that exist on Reddit that just don’t exist on Lemmy, or have inactive communities. The other option for some of those communities is Twitter, so I’d much rather just check Reddit. I also don’t expect my local towns subreddit to move to Lemmy from Reddit. I think it’s less about returning to Reddit and more so wanting to participate in small communities that exist in Reddit.
Paper cups and plates I guess? I don’t like doing dishes and those two both eliminate the need to, but without a downside of being plastic.
:(
Lol he did it intentionally and she was a photographer for the concert. There’s a video of it you can see. He’s clearly being a dick. You shouldn’t be expected to get kicked in the face at a rock show???
That’s fair. Fwiw that’s the main reason I tried to avoid kindle, so I would be able to take my library where i want and not be tied to Amazon
I think Neon puts out a lot of good stuff. Generally a bit of a darker tone (not always) with their films, but still quality.
I’m pretty sure it’s a $30 dollar charge, from when I last looked into it. For that exact price difference you can get a Kobo, which isn’t Amazon and doesn’t have ads
I would assume since it was a block of raw text in Ukrainian in a translation file, it would have passed more under the radar than something like a backdoor. I do not know how things are reviewed before being pushed to release though.
So let’s give the companies that have lied about the harms and effects of their product a heads up? They never gave people who died of cancer when they knew it caused cancer but denied it. Moving the age will just give the time for the business owners to get more of the money out and fuck over the smaller employees anyways.
I honestly think there is no solution that doesn’t have negative effects. I’m personally very against the banning of something (especially a plant) as a solution to a problem as it creates plenty more problems (see America’s drug problems)
They just need to outlaw the commercial production of cigarettes. I’m very anti cigarette personally, but at the end of the day, tobacco is a plant and should not be outlawed. But outlawing commercial products it makes tobacco legal and accessible to those who want it. With commercial cigarettes being less available, in guessing through either lack of convenience or lack of ability to act on an impulse, that the amount of smokers will drop.
I’m curious what features that Calibre was missing for reading that you are looking for specifically? I know that it’s got some pretty standard features built in, though I’ve never used it to read, only to check files before sending to eReader.
From what I recall it has to do with encoding and how the data stored references the following frame but not previous. Still seems like some engineering could be done to solve, so it it’s not as simple as “current Frame–”
I hate that Minecraft is one of the two things I even need a Microsoft Account for.
So if Microsoft published a Unity developed game on Windows, Microsoft could easily charge a $0.20 free to the unity team for installing the Unity Runtime on their OS.
Not being completely serious there. Honestly thought, did the CEO not realize if they start doing this, what’s to stop another company from doing that to them. Things like mp3, where developers need to pay a license for, could then be charged in a similar fashion for each install.
Costa Rica is in Central America.
1st, you can stream from everywhere, as long as you have WiFi. Not just home. Idk how people are literally unable to read, just like that. I mean how would that even work. It’s made for remote play so it does remote play, simple as that
Not sure what you mean, but you can only play it on the same network that your PS5 is connected to. So for most people, unless you move your PS5 everywhere you want to use the handheld it is just at home.
Tbh I think a big part of the problem is Mojang’s failure to communicate with it’s players, less so the lack of features being added.
