I don’t like whiskey or drinking alkohol…or cold drinks (got sensitive teeth) Same guy bought me a drinking game, which was basically a roulette with shot glasses. We know each other for many years and he knows I don’t really drink, yet he still buys me alcohol related stuff…

Yes, drinking alcohol is one of his go to activities, but I think he genuinely beleives he can buy great gifts.
