This is epic. Trolling level 10. Spez wanted to force them to reopen, so they did, but burned the subreddit. I can’t wait for r/gaming to be only about ping pong, or r/videos to be only cat videos.
You can not force a community. And Spez has unintentionally created a community, just one that hates him.
I feel like /r/videos only being cat videos would still make it a worthwhile sub. Make it so that any videos shared that are above 240p are against the rules and subject to be automatically deleted.
/r/videos is self posts only to discuss retro video formats, like betamax vs. VHS.
I would unironically love that.
If anything, that would just undercut the 300 other subreddits already devoted to cat videos.
